Time Trial bikes are specialist bikes that are used by competitive riders who ride against the clock in competition or individual events.
The specialist nature of these machines makes them expensive as much time and dedication needs to go into the manufacturing process to make the frame and set up as aerodynamic as possible. As this discipline is all about time, the marginal gains created by lightweight components and even clothing weight makes all the difference.
These bikes are equipped with time trial bars which stretch the rider out into a longer posture - something that can be uncomfortable for cyclists who don't time trial - as this is the most aerodynamic position. The material used is usually carbon due to it's light weight and the cycling components are top-end, adding to the value of the machines.
Specialist machines require a specialist bike fit to find the position where you can put down the watts more effectively. At Cycle Division we have the Guru bike fit machine which will tell you your optimum riding position, then we can adjust the bike accordingly to give you a bike with a tailored fit.
